A Spoonful of Sofrito: People Learn Chicken Nugget Facts While Eating Them!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: A pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life.

People Learn Chicken Nugget Facts While Eating Them!

Sofrito Lovers,

Many of you know that I hate McDonald's and have used this blog as a vehicle to educate my audience about the poison that is served to you by the golden arches.  If you need any more convincing that their "food" is the stuff of cancer and death, then please watch the video posted below from BuzzFeedBlue.

McNuggets are one of Mickey Dee's most popular products and the health facts about these little nuggets of doom are startling.  I won't give away too much, except that McNuggets are mostly made from "an adulterated chicken product containing 50% or less chicken meat in a suspension of unknown carrier material."  Yummy, right? NO!

Watch the video posted below, you'll thank me!  Watch and then go taste something healthy for yourself!  ¡Buen provecho!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: A pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life.

STOP Throwing Out These Foods!

Sofrito Lovers,

Stop throwing out food...unless it's expired, of course!  We all want to save money and throwing away food is a colossal waste of that hard earned dough!  Food can be amazingly versatile so check out the following post from Refinery.com and learn how to recycle, reuse, and enjoy your refrigerator leftovers.

To be honest, some of these are No-brainers, yet most of us never think to do themNow that I'm in the know, I'm planning on making a few frozen left over banana smoothies and using that leftover pasta sauce in my next breakfast omelet.  Check out the rest of these great ideas below!  Food is a privilege and a blessing, don't let it go to waste!

Read it and then go taste for yourself!  ¡Buen Provecho!

There's a reason that meal subscription boxes are so popular right now. Not only do they promise to do your grocery shopping and meal planning for you, they also promises no food waste. (Although their packaging waste is a whole other story.) Who hasn't done all the grocery shopping for a new, fun recipe...only to realize there are a ton of extra herbs, unused stock, or pricey, single purpose-bought nuts that languish forever in the fridge or pantry till there's nothing to do but throw them away.

The first two are easy, but that third one is really the head scratcher! Luckily, Robert Sietsema, from Eater.com, is trying to answer that eternal question for us!

The question: I'm looking for dim sum recommendations: Chinatown or lower Manhattan preferred!

Sietsema’s response: Don't believe anyone who tells you Nom Wah is the best — it's mediocre, but very picturesque and worth visiting for the old Chinatown flavor. Royal Seafood (103 Mott St.) used to be the spot, now Joy Luck Palace across the street is better.
