Coqui Masters Qualifier!

The New York Coquito Masters is akin to the Coquito Olympics!  In case you have no idea what coquito is, coquito is a Puerto Rican/Caribbean eggnog-like drink made with coconut, several types of dairy products, cinnamon, and rum. It's prepared and consumed during Navidades (Christmas season), Three Kings, and Octivitas (an eight-day celebration after Three Kings Day, that really lasts a month).  It's delicious, amazing, and all the rest of those positive adjectives!

At the Coquito Masters Qualifier, Boricuas and Non-Boricuas get together to fight to the death to see whose Coquito is better...okay, I'm exaggerating a bit, no one dies, but the competition is no less intense!  Coquito is deeply personal and the folks who enter the competition do so for nothing less than coquito supremacy! 

Check out the Coquito Masters Qualifier on Saturday, October 13th in the Bronx! Drink some delicious coquito, enjoy the comedic stylings of Bill Santiago, and savor the documentary in progress, ¡Coquito!  You'll probably see me there!

Is Detroit-Style Pepperoni Pizza Better Than A New York Slice?

Oh shit, there's a new contender in the New York-Chicago-L.A. style "Who's Pizza is better?" beef!  It seems Detroit (MoTown/Motor City) is throwing their hat into the fray with their Detroit-style Pepperoni Pizza.

I've never tasted a Detroit-style Pepperoni Pizza, but now I'm SUPER CURIOUS! I've never been to Detroit, but the heavenly photo above has inspired me to make the trip.  Look at all that 'roni!  Day-um!  That looks good!
