With old faves like Mission Chinese and new places like Momofuku Noodle Bar, this list will point you in the right direction when it comes to good food in NYC!  Again, I lament the lack of Uptown representation-where are the Harlem and Washington Heights eats?

This is inspiring me to make my own list and get it out there, ASAP!  Look out for the Sofrito Essential List to Uptown Restaurants coming your way soon!

Until then, check out the post below and go taste for yourself!  ¡Buen Provecho!

by Stefanie Tuder and Eater Staff Apr 4, 2017, 1:54pm EDT

It's time to update the Eater 38, your answer and ours to any question that begins, "Can you recommend a restaurant?" This highly-elite group covers the entire city, spans myriad cuisines, and collectively satisfies all restaurant needs, save for those occasions when you absolutely must spend half a paycheck. Every quarter, we add pertinent restaurants that were omitted, are newly eligible, or have stepped up their game. Restaurants must be open at least six months to be included.

A Spoonful of Sofrito: DIY UNICORN Frappuccino!

A Spoonful of Sofrito:  A pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life.

DIY UNICORN Frappuccino!

Sofrito Lovers,

I avoid corny food fads like the fucking plague!  Normally, I wouldn't give a hot damn about this Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino bullshit, but after tasting one of these tie-dye hipster concoctions I've got to admit they're pretty delicious!

As many of you now, I hate coffee with a passion, but this rainbow unicorn thing (Why unicorn, anyway?) is a lot more milkshake than coffee!  Honestly, it's a sour/sweet sugar bomb, but I do recommend people go out and try it or make your own!

This weekend, I came across this post from Emmymadeinjapan, one of my favorite YouTube channels, that teaches you how to make your own unicorn frapp at home.  Honestly, I'm super tempted to make one next weekend as a dessert drink for David!  I'll let you know how he likes it!

Check out the post below and go taste for yourself! ¡Buen provecho!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: A pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life!

Easy Ham and Cheese Scones Recipe!

Sofrito Lovers,

If you're looking for something to make Easter breakfast a little extra special, then check out the post below for these ham and cheese scones.

Usually, I'm not a fan of scones because of their texture and their dryness, but when I was served these babies, I fell in love.  Light, fluffy, and packed with ham and cheesy goodness, they're so delicious!  I highly recommend you try them out, especially for a special event like Easter Sunday breakfast!

Check out the recipe below, make, them, and taste for yourself!  ¡Buen Provecho!

Easy Ham and Cheese Scones Recipe

If your fridge is stuffed with leftover ham after the holidays, these super-simple scones are all you need to polish it off. Studded with pockets of tender ham and gooey cheese, with savory bites of scallion throughout, they're a perfect addition to any brunch menu. But don't forget: Only a handful of cheese goes in the dough itself! The rest is reserved to sprinkle on top, giving these scones a cheesy, golden crust.
