The love and support that has come from the food community in NYC toward Puerto Rico has been nothing less then beautiful.

I hope to see some of you there! Let's go taste for ourselves together for Puerto Rico!  ¡Buen provecho!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: A pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life.

6 Go-to Latin Fusion Restaurants!

Sofrito Lovers,

Latin fusion restaurants are finally getting their props!  For years, the Chino-Cubano places and Peruvian-Japanese eateries were often overlooked or seen as a novelty, but now many foodies, gourmets, and gourmands are finally catching on to the amazing flavor profiles these eateries create!

Check out the article posted below from HipLatina on 6 of the best Latin fusion restaurants to visit in NYC!  I love this compilation; I couldn't have done it better myself...though I might try!

I highly recommend Flor de Mayo (Peruvian-Japanese) and Sushi Samba (Brazilian-Japanese) and Zengo (Asian-Latino).  I know you will love the amazing food at these places! Go taste for yourself! ¡Buen Provecho!

6 Go-To Latin Fusion Restaurants in NYC

One of my favorite things about New York is that you can find literally whatever you want whenever you want it, especially when it comes to food. New York is the world capital of ethnic cuisine, and the melting pot of cultures comes through loud and clear in the city’s food offerings. Not only will you find plenty of options for whatever country’s cuisine you happen to be craving, but you’ll also find plenty of innovative fusion options developed right here. When plain old tacos or arroz con pollo aren’t quite doing the trick for your taste buds, here are six Latin fusion restaurants to help switch things up.

A Spoonful of Sofrito: Best Pizzas in New York! New York Pizza Tour!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: A pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life.

Best Pizzas in New York! New York Pizza Tour!

Sofrito Lovers,

New York City is world renown for its pizza!  Let's be honest, when you eat pizza outside of NYC the quality and flavor never seems to measure up.  I remember tasting pizza in Philly, Boston, San Juan, and Los Angeles and thinking to myself how sad these slices were-nothing is like NYC pizza!

Before my Chicago fam starts beefing with me, let me say that Chi-Town deep dish is incredible and there's nothing like it in NYC.  Still, I prefer a good old fashion NYC dollar slice any day!

Check out Mikey Chen's latest video, from his YouTube Channel Strictly Dumpling!as he gives us a tour of his favorite pizza eateries throughout the City. I know I'm heading downtown for that incredible Vodka Pizza at Rubirosa and that cheesy artisanal slice at Kesté as soon as possible! I hope you join me!

Go taste for yourself! ¡Buen Provecho!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: Favorite Ramen Bowls in NYC!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: A pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life.

Favorite Ramen Bowls in NYC!

Sofrito Lovers,

As Fall progresses, it's getting colder and when the nip in the air gets too intense it becomes time for hot soup-in particular, Ramen!

I love me some Ramen! I mean, real Ramen, not that heart attack causing swill you can buy for fifty cents at the bodega! I'm talking about a hot steamy bowl of Japanese deliciousness full of veggies, pork, and copious amounts of chewy noodles!  That is what real Ramen is and if this description is foreign to you, then you need to check out the article below and get your ass to one of these spots.

Once you have some real Ramen, you won't ever go back to those little salt bomb bags!  Okay, I can't front! When things are bad and I need a quick ramen fix, then I get a Machuran Oriental flavor, but I doctor it up as much as possible!  But still, you must try some of the spots mentioned in the EatNYC
article below!  I guarantee you'll love them!

Go taste for yourself! ¡Buen Provecho!

Warm Up With Our Favorite Ramen Bowls
Published on October 22, 2017 by Zoe Becker

Face it: It’s going to start getting cold here in NYC. It’s undeniably fall and what comes next? That’s right. Winter (UGH). Winter means cold weather, sweaters, and hot soup. Don’t go for just any soup, though, try these bowls of ramen which just happen to be some of our faves...

A Spoonful of Sofrito: Where to eat on the Upper West Side!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: A pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life.

Where to eat on the Upper West Side!

Sofrito Lovers,

To quote Stephanie Tuder and Robert Sietsema (my all time foodie crush),
"The assertion that there are no good restaurants on the Upper West Side simply isn’t true." and I couldn't agree more!

The whole reason I started this blog was to enlighten people who think good food can only be found under 96th St.  When I first saw this post, I thanked the Foodie Gods for this blessing!  It's about time Eater.com featured these delicious uptown eateries!

This list is pretty awesome; I'm a huge fan of Makana and Curry King!  Check out the list for a few more amazing spots!  Go taste for yourself! ¡Buen provecho!

Where to Eat on the Upper West Side

The assertion that there are no good restaurants on the Upper West Side simply isn’t true. From the upscale establishments around Lincoln Center to the cluster of great inexpensive eateries along West 106th Street to the string of mid-priced bistros marching up Amsterdam Avenue, the UWS has lots to offer.

Here, a map to the best, arranged geographically from north to south.
