A Spoonful of Sofrito: A Pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life!
8 New NYC Restaurants Openings!
Sofrito Lovers,
It should be no surprise that I'm always on the hunt for the next great restaurant to enjoy a meal in! As always, Eater.com makes my life much easier with their handy dandy lists and guides! I can't want to try out some of their recommendations.
Yesterday, Eater.com posted a listing of 8 new restaurants that are opening downtown! I wish they had included at least 1 or 2 uptown openings, if any of course! For the full list, click the link below!
Hopefully this weekend, I'll be able to visit 1 or 2 of these places! I think I might go to Mew Men in the village ( you guys know I'm a Ramen fanatic, right?) or Wok Chi in Midtown- I love stir fry! Let me know, if you visit any of these places and what you thought of the food!
Go taste for yourself! ¡Buen Provecho!
Mew Men, Bar Fortuna, Maison Kayser East Village, and More NYC Openings
Vital info on eight new restaurants
by
1) Greenwich Village: Fabio Raffaelli is a former Daniel bartender who is now leading the program at Bar Fortuna, a new cocktail bar on the second floor of Casa Apicii. Casa Apicii, which LA chef Casey Lane opened in July, is providing a short list of bar snacks, including local charcuterie, bagna cauda with vegetables, and arancini. All the Italian-influenced cocktails on the list are $18. Bar Fortuna is closed Sunday and Monday. Status: Certified Open; 62 West 9 Street, 212-353-8400
2) West Village: Mew Men is a new ramen restaurant that opened last week from the team that previously opened Her Name is Han and the new Korean small plates restaurant Atoboy. At Mew Men, the theme weighs heavy on music and sound,
where a sheet music stand at the entrance holds the restaurant's menu;
music cases are used as legs for the dining tables; and the ceiling is
lined with stage light fixtures. The signature ramen is Shoyu Chintan, a
variation of chicken soup. Mew Men is closed on Mondays. Status: Certified Open; 7 Cornelia Street
