A Spoonful of Sofrito: A pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life.
‘Golden Girls’-Themed Cafe Teases Opening with Photos of Sassy Decor Galore!
Sofrito Lovers,
A few months ago, I wrote a post about Rue La Rue, a new cafe opening in Washington Heights, dedicated to the memory of departed actress Rue McClanahan and her famous TV show The Golden Girls. Eater.com has finally caught up with me-I scooped them-and posted an article on the upcoming debut of Rue La Rue and the amazing memorabilia within.
I'm predicting that this cafe is going to be a hit! GG fans will be lining up in droves to get inside to see Rue's amazing collection of art and show memorabilia! After trying their incredible vegetarian lasagna, I think the food is going to be a hit as well!
The article below features the evolution of the decor and contains some awesome tidbits about Rue and the show. If you're a GG fan, this cafe/museum is the place for you! Check out the post below and enjoy!
Once this gorgeous space open, PLEASE go taste for yourself! ¡Buen Provecho!

Rue La Rue Cafe has photos, costumes, and even an Emmy
The new Washington Heights cafe themed around saucy septuagenarian show, Golden Girls is inching closer to opening its memorabilia-packed doors. Rue La Rue Cafe, to debut at 4396 Broadway, has been advertising to hire staff
and posting photos of a nearly-finished interior, where the walls are
plastered with tons and tons of pictures of the show’s titular ladies.
Owner Michael LaRue was a close friend of late actress Rue McClanahan, who played Blanche Devereaux, and the cafe’s decor is reportedly decorated with memorabilia that he inherited. According to photos teased on the Facebook, he’s not kidding around. Earlier this week, the team posted this before and after:
