7 Latin American Drinks That Will Make You Forget About Pumpkin Spice Lattes This Fall!

Sofrito Lovers,

Pumpkin Spiced Lattes and other pumpkin hot drinks are all the rage...every damn Autumn!  It's impossible to escape all this pumpkin flavored bombardment!  I find it boring and uninspired, where's the creativity and diversity?

So it's obvious, I'm not a fan of the pumpkin flavored revolution! That's why I'm sharing the post below from Remezcla The New Latin Wave, titled, "7 Latin American Drinks that will make you forget about Pumpkin spice Lattes this Fall."

This list is both interesting and delicious!  Being Boricua, I'm partial to the Mavi and the Dominican Chocolate de Mani (Chocolate Peanut drink)!  I grew up on these two amazing drinks; I'm happy to see them get their props!

Check out the post below and let go of the Pumpkin Spiced latte! Go get yourself some Mavi!  Go taste for yourself ¡Buen Provecho!

7 Latin American Drinks That Will Make You Forget About Pumpkin Spice Lattes This Fall

With fall officially here and the days getting nippier, we can safely say we’ve entered pumpkin spice season. And though pumpkin spice lattes have known to get some entirely through autumn, the very popular fall drink can become played out.

Check out the post below and choose a place for your family to visit!  Eating and spending time together is extremely important for a family! Share a meal and a conversation!  Love each other and grow closer!  Go taste for yourself!  ¡Buen Provecho!

15 Cool Restaurants That Are Quiet Enough For Your Parents

Getting dinner with your parents is tricky. Parents like places that aren’t too loud, and you like places that aren’t lame. Sure, your parents deserve some consideration because they technically raised you - but they didn’t raise you to be lame. So, on a deeper level, you’d really just be letting them down if you chose a boring, quiet place to eat dinner. Try one of these restaurants instead. They’re cool, and they aren’t too loud for old people.

A Spoonful of Sofrito: Chuletas Guisadas/Stewed Pork Chops!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: A Pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to my life.

Chuletas Guisadas/Stewed Pork Chops!

Sofrito Lovers,

This weekend, I made Chuletas Guisadas (Stewed Pork Chops) for Sunday night dinner and it was AWESOME!  The recipe is a healthier and easier way to prepare pork chops; it's a great alternative to frying or baking chops.

Being a fan of the "one pot wonder", I love how simple it is to brown some chops, add seasoning, veggies, water, and let it stew.  My finicky partner David loved the dinner; that's all the praise I need!

Served on a bed of white rice, the stew was a success and it's my hope that you'll give it a try!  I've posted the recipe I used below!  Read it, cook it, and taste for yourself!  ¡Buen Provecho!

Chuletas Guisadas/Stewed Pork Chops

Ingredients:
Pork Chops
Medium Onion
2 Medium Potatoes
½ green pepper
½ red pepper
1 Tbsp of Canola Oil
½ can of Goya Tomato Sauce
2 ½ Cups of water

Seasoning:
1 tsp of Adobo
1 tsp of Garlic powder
1 tsp of Onion powder
1 tsp of Oregano
½ ground Black pepper
I packet of Sazon
1 Cubito de Jamon or Ham seasoning powder
2 Tbsp of Sofrito

Directions:

Clean and cut pork chop into chunks and season
with dry rub.  Marinate overnight or an hour before cooking.

Heat oil under medium high heat and brown
Pork chops.  Once partially brown add Sofrito and mix.

Once chops are brown add tomato sauce and mix.
Add 2 ½ cups of water, sazon, cubito, and mix.

Add potatoes and other veggies and let boil.
Once it boils, lower heat to medium low and
Cover. Cook for 25-30 minutes.

Serve on white rice.
