A Spoonful of Sofrito: Chuletas Guisadas/Stewed Pork Chops!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: A Pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to my life.

Chuletas Guisadas/Stewed Pork Chops!

Sofrito Lovers,

This weekend, I made Chuletas Guisadas (Stewed Pork Chops) for Sunday night dinner and it was AWESOME!  The recipe is a healthier and easier way to prepare pork chops; it's a great alternative to frying or baking chops.

Being a fan of the "one pot wonder", I love how simple it is to brown some chops, add seasoning, veggies, water, and let it stew.  My finicky partner David loved the dinner; that's all the praise I need!

Served on a bed of white rice, the stew was a success and it's my hope that you'll give it a try!  I've posted the recipe I used below!  Read it, cook it, and taste for yourself!  ¡Buen Provecho!

1 tsp of Onion powder
1 tsp of Oregano
½ ground Black pepper
I packet of Sazon
1 Cubito de Jamon or Ham seasoning powder
2 Tbsp of Sofrito

Directions:

Clean and cut pork chop into chunks and season
with dry rub.  Marinate overnight or an hour before cooking.

Heat oil under medium high heat and brown
Pork chops.  Once partially brown add Sofrito and mix.

Once chops are brown add tomato sauce and mix.
Add 2 ½ cups of water, sazon, cubito, and mix.
