A Spoonful of Sofrito: A pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life.

Top 10 Super Foods For Diabetics 2017!

Sofrito Lovers,

Where my Diabetics at?  YEAH!

I'm not doing enough to educate my fellow Diabetics, Pre-Diabetics, and others with insulin regulation issues about the good foods we need to add to our diets.  I came across this cool video on YouTube, originally posted on Scirocco ThePunisher, that features a series of super foods Diabetics should include in their meal plans.

It was really informative and cool!  I had no idea that I should include more Blueberries, walnuts, and avocado into my diet.  I feel like I've always been told to stay away from certain veggies and nuts, but now I guess science is on their side.

Check out the video below and PLEASE SHARE IT WITH ANY DIABETICS, PRE-DIABETICS, AND FOLKS WITH INSULIN REGULATIONS ISSUES! Let's end this damn disorder once and for all.

Go taste some delicious healthy food for yourself! ¡Buen provecho!

Recycle, Reuse, and Repurpose your leftover chicken!  I'm all about using every part of the chicken and not letting one bit of that delicious bird go to waste.  The article posted below, from Chowhound.com, will provide you with some amazingly delicious ways to give your leftovers new life.

I love the idea of my leftovers becoming an amazing Pesto, Chicken, and White Bean Soup, Buffalo Chicken Dip, or Basil Chicken Quesadillas.  The recipes are easy to follow and aren't too time-consuming either.

Check out this amazing article and start getting creative.  There's nothing better than chicken, don't let a single morsel go to waste!  Go and taste for yourself! ¡Buen Provecho!

Recipes for Using Up Leftover Chicken!

You won't recognize your leftover chicken after you're finished repurposing it with these creative ideas. Although this soup recipe calls for breast meat, you can use any part of the chicken you have leftover. The soup's giant wallop of flavor comes from Italian sausage, basil pesto, zucchini, and hearty white beans — mainly the sausage and pesto. Let's be real. Add one of those, and whatever you're making is wonderful. Both? Insane. Find out what to do with more of your leftovers and check out all our chicken recipes.

A Spoonful of Sofrito: Dollar Store Pork Chop!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: A pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life.

Dollar Store Pork Chop!

Sofrito Lovers,

Lately, I've been reading that many people are trying to save money by buying their meat at the dollar store.  God, what the hell are people thinking?  The idea of buying super cheap meat from dollar stores, where they sell notoriously sketchy food products, grosses me the fuck out.

I'm sorry to sound judgmental, but buying shitty meat super cheap sounds like a recipe for botulism and explosive super diarrhea.  Recently, I watched a tasting video on emmymadeinjapan, one of my favorite YouTube channels, which featured Emmy tasting a Dollar Store Pork chop.  As I watched, all I could do was scream at the screen, "DON'T DO IT EMMY!  YOU'LL GET THE SOUR APPLE SPLATTERS!"

I won't give away the ending, but needless to say, I think she agrees with me that dollar store meat is not a good idea.  Watch, laugh, and go taste some good meat from your market!  ¡Buen provecho!

Where To Try Wine in NYC!

Sofrito Lovers,

In vino veritas! In wine, truth!  I don't know about you, but I love me some wine.  With all the insanity taking place in this country, a nice glass of vino, from time to time, takes the edge off.

If you're interested in doing some no cost/no commitment wine tasting, then check out the following article from Madeline Muzzi on Eater.com.  The idea of sampling some bottles before buying makes my day!

Check out the post below, then get out there and stock up on your favorite Merlot, Chenin Blanc, or Malbec.  A nice glass of wine can be good for your heart, body, and soul!  Go taste for yourself!  ¡Buen Provecho!

No matter how much you know about wine, the best way to avoid purchasing a bad bottle is to taste it first. Fortunately, many shops, bars, and restaurants around the city offer chances to try it before committing to a purchase. Don’t feel obligated to buy the bottle if you don’t care for it (or even if you do), and make sure to ask a few questions while you’re there. You’ll get a and drink and an education. And half of the time it will be totally free.
