Whenever a dream comes true, we must celebrate, commemorate and most importantly support!
Last week, Chef Derrick Lopez, of the Freakin Rican Restaurant/catering/YouTube Channel, opened his first brick-and-mortar location in Astoria, Queens! Yes, Queens people, there's a new amazing Puerto Rican restaurant in your borough!
For years I've enjoyed their wonderful fare at local street festivals, but now I can finally sit down and truly enjoy Chef Derrick's culinary art- and you can too!
So, this weekend, make some plans to have lunch or dinner at the Freakin Rican! I know it'll be worth the trip to Astoria!

I totally agree with you. The Freakin Rican Restaurant is a great restaurant. It takes you straight to the Island and grandma's home cook meals. Don't forget to try it.
