A Spoonful of Sofrito: Vegan Carbonara Pasta Recipe!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: A pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life.

Vegan Carbonara Pasta Recipe!

Sofrito Lovers,

I can't believe that I love Vegan Carbonara Pasta!  Sometimes, certain vegan dishes can taste, how do I say this gingerly?  LIKE SHIT!  But, when I tasted my co-worker's vegan pasta recipe, from SeriousEats.com, I couldn't believe how creamy, rich, and delicious this pasta dish tasted.

How could buttery, cheesy, eggy carbonara be vegan?  How could someone veganize this decadent and delicious celebration of dairy at is best?

Flabbergasted, I immediately asked for the recipe and she called it up on her smart phone and,of course, the recipe was from SeriousEats.  Their recipes are always resourceful and creative; these people could veganize an Argentinian barbeque smack in the middle of cow country!

Check out this recipe for yourself!  If a life long carnivore like me loves it, I'm sure you all will as well!  Go taste for yourself!

Vegan Carbonara Pasta Recipe

Carbonara may be one of the most difficult recipes to vegan-ify, since every major ingredient in the sauce is off-limits. But by eating lots of the real deal and getting mighty crafty with an array of unlikely ingredients, I managed to create a vegan carbonara that captures the essence of the original like no other: It's silky and rich, unctuous, and studded with meaty bits, with the sharp, lactic tang of Pecorino Romano (but, of course, no actual Pecorino Romano).

Check out the rest of the recipe here!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: HOT CHEETOS NOODLES/ MUKBANG!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: A pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life.

HOT CHEETOS NOODLES/ MUKBANG!

Sofrito Lovers,

Hot Cheetos Noodles...is there anything else that needs to be said?  Wendy's Eating Show never fails to deliver funny, bizarre, adorable, and jaw-droppingly crazy Mukbang videos.

For those of you who don't know, Mukbang videos are a genre of tasting videos in which the host eats a huge quantity of food while carrying on a conversation with the audience.  Sometimes, the host chats or Skypes with the audience while filming and answers their questions.  Wendy's videos are on YouTube so there isn't any chatting or Skyping, but they're thrilling, hilarious, and incredible nonetheless.  Wendy has a way of engaging her audience that keeps you coming back for more.

Check out the queen of Hot Cheeto cuisine at her best!  I guarantee you won't be able to pull yourself away.  Watch, then go taste for yourself!  ¡Buen Provecho!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: A pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life.

Top 10 Super Foods For Diabetics 2017!

Sofrito Lovers,

Where my Diabetics at?  YEAH!

I'm not doing enough to educate my fellow Diabetics, Pre-Diabetics, and others with insulin regulation issues about the good foods we need to add to our diets.  I came across this cool video on YouTube, originally posted on Scirocco ThePunisher, that features a series of super foods Diabetics should include in their meal plans.

It was really informative and cool!  I had no idea that I should include more Blueberries, walnuts, and avocado into my diet.  I feel like I've always been told to stay away from certain veggies and nuts, but now I guess science is on their side.

Check out the video below and PLEASE SHARE IT WITH ANY DIABETICS, PRE-DIABETICS, AND FOLKS WITH INSULIN REGULATIONS ISSUES! Let's end this damn disorder once and for all.

Go taste some delicious healthy food for yourself! ¡Buen provecho!

You won't recognize your leftover chicken after you're finished repurposing it with these creative ideas. Although this soup recipe calls for breast meat, you can use any part of the chicken you have leftover. The soup's giant wallop of flavor comes from Italian sausage, basil pesto, zucchini, and hearty white beans — mainly the sausage and pesto. Let's be real. Add one of those, and whatever you're making is wonderful. Both? Insane. Find out what to do with more of your leftovers and check out all our chicken recipes.

A Spoonful of Sofrito: Dollar Store Pork Chop!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: A pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life.

Dollar Store Pork Chop!

Sofrito Lovers,

Lately, I've been reading that many people are trying to save money by buying their meat at the dollar store.  God, what the hell are people thinking?  The idea of buying super cheap meat from dollar stores, where they sell notoriously sketchy food products, grosses me the fuck out.

I'm sorry to sound judgmental, but buying shitty meat super cheap sounds like a recipe for botulism and explosive super diarrhea.  Recently, I watched a tasting video on emmymadeinjapan, one of my favorite YouTube channels, which featured Emmy tasting a Dollar Store Pork chop.  As I watched, all I could do was scream at the screen, "DON'T DO IT EMMY!  YOU'LL GET THE SOUR APPLE SPLATTERS!"

I won't give away the ending, but needless to say, I think she agrees with me that dollar store meat is not a good idea.  Watch, laugh, and go taste some good meat from your market!  ¡Buen provecho!
