A Spoonful of Sofrito: 15 foods that help you poop!

A Spoonful of Sofrito: A Pinch of advice that will add a lot of flavor to your life.

15 foods that help you poop!

Sofrito Lovers,

Eating means pooping, but sometimes our diets prevent us from pooping! When that happens we tend to run to the closest medication or other chemical solutions.  What we should be doing is turning to certain foods!

Altering our diet or intake of certain food helps kick start our pooping when we're backed up.  Various tasty high fiber snacks, fruits, and beverages will unclog those pipes and offset the discomfort of constipation.

Kiwi, popcorn, oranges, and flax seeds are only a few of the treats that will jumpstart a doodie!  Fun, delicious, and natural, these foods can help you avoid the gross Pepto Bismol, Dulcolax, and Exlax alternatives.  As much as we think these laxatives and poop stimulants are helpful, they aren't always as soothing as we think.  In fact, some of these irritate your stomach more before they help.

So when you're constipated, give these treats a try, before you go the chemical route!  Check out the article, eat, and get your poop on!  ¡Buen Provecho!

15 Foods That Help You Poop

Prunes

Prunes—or if you prefer a tastier sounding name, dried plums—are the first food you thought of, right? There's a reason they're famous. For one, they're rich in fiber. The nutrient is what increases the bulk of your stool so it can move along on its merry way. One prune has about 1 gram of fiber. "That's a pretty concentrated amount," says Dr. Blaney. They also have fructans and sorbitol, fermentable sugars that can have a laxative effect, she adds.
